About

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Texas Tech University. My work blends mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and high‑performance computing to study fluid–structure interaction (FSI) problems with biomedical applications—spanning cardiovascular flow, bioartificial pancreas design, and tumor–stroma dynamics. Before TTU (joined 2022), I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at UC Irvine (2020–2022), with postdoctoral training at the University of Houston (2014–2018) and UC Berkeley (2018–2020).

  • Ph.D., Louisiana Tech University, 2014 — Computational Analysis & Modeling
  • M.S., Louisiana Tech University, 2012 — Applied Mathematics
  • B.S., Wuhan University, 2008 — Electronic Engineering
  • Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Houston, 2014–2018 — FSI modeling
  • Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California, Berkeley, 2018–2020 — Mathematical modeling in medicine

Research Interests

  • Computational hemodynamics and patient‑specific cardiovascular modeling.
  • Fluid–structure interaction (incompressible viscous flow coupled with elastic structures).
  • Poroelastic media and bioartificial organ scaffold design.
  • Multiscale modeling for tumor–stroma interaction and drug response.
  • High‑performance computing, parallel algorithms, and numerical methods for PDEs.
